Khao Khanap Nam

Serving as a landmark of Krabi province, it comprises two hills of 100 metre high one on each side of the Krabi River. It is accessible in 15 minutes by a long-tail boat from Chao Fa pier in the town. There are stairs leading up to the caves which contain stalactites and stalagmites.

Tham Sua (Tiger Cave)

Located about 9 km. to the north of Krabi town. Its name is derived from the tiger paw prints on the stone floor inside the cave. The surrounding wooded area is covered with large trees hundreds of years old, especially in the nearby Khiriwong Valley. There are a great number of small caves in the encircling mountains. Apart from being a meditation center, it is also a place of archaeological and historical interest. The Kuan-Im image enshrined here is known to be the most beautiful one in the south of Thailand.

Tha Pom (Khlong Song Nam)

Tha Pom is about 34 km. from the provincial town of Krabi. The canal of Tha Pom is well known for its crystal clear water. It is called by local people khlong song nam in Thai or literally "two water canal". This is because of its special feature location where seawater meets freshwater during the high-tide periods, resulting in a mixture of seawater and freshwater in the canal. Situated amidst mangrove forest and swamp forest, Tha Pom is home to an astonishing variety of creatures from the two types of forest.

The natural forest trail of Tha Pom has a total length of about 700 metres and takes around 45 minutes to walk through it. At the end of the trail is a lookout tower for a bird's eye view of the place.

Visitors are recommended to walk in a circle from the starting point to the end in order not to miss any single place around there.

Located at Ban Laem Pho some 17 km. from town, it is a huge rock slab evolved from uncountable shell fossils of some 35 million years. This shell graveyard was once a large freshwater swamp populated by millions of snails. Over aeons, the dead snails gradually formed a layer of fossils, which is about 40 cm. thick. This wonderful site of nature has become one of the most popular attractions of Krabi and one of the three in the world.

Noppharat Thara Beach

Located about 18 km. northwest of Krabi town, it is a 3-km long scenic beach lined with casuarina trees and coconut groves. This is where local people gather on weekends.

Speedboats to islands such as Poda, Dam Khwan or Kai, Thap, Hong Islands and Phi Phi Islands, are available here. The famous Miracle Beach is situated between Kai and Thap islands.

Separated Sea (Ko Dam Kwan)

One of Thailand's unseen highlights, this amazing natural phenomenon is set to take place at Ko Dam Kwan Island (Chicken Island) five days before and after the full moon, from December to the early May, when tides change dramatically in different hours of a day. When the tide is low, it reveals a white sand dune and limestone beach connecting two islands together. To see the Separated Sea, you need to buy a tour package or rent a boat.

Phra Nang Beach

Situated in the southeast of Ao Nang almost at the far-end of the cape, it can be reached by boat from Chao Fa Pier in Krabi Muang District which takes about 45 minutes. And if you hire a boat from Ao Nang Pier, it will take about 15 minutes. Phra Nang is the best beach for swimming, with clean, white powdery sand and crystal clear water. Since it is not difficult to get there and is accessible all year round, Phra Nang Beach is popular with tourists.

Apart from white sandy beach, Phra Nang Beach also features a large cave whose name is the origin of its name and the cave has become a landmark of Phra Nang Beach.

Phra Nang Cave

This cave on the east side of the bay is famous for its wonderful stalactites and stalagmites. Since ancient times, Phra Nang Cave is where fishermen have made offerings to the symbolic Phallus of Shiva before going out to sea.

Railay (Rai Le) Beach

This beach is one of the world's most famous rock climbing destinations. With the towering limestone karsts that dominate the landscape, Railay is a haven for rock climbers, and the area offers more than 700 different climbing routes.

The area of Railay is actually a large peninsula jutting out into the Andaman, but what makes this place truly special is that it’s cut off from the rest of the mainland by a row of steep hills, which means you can only get there by boat.

Railay actually covers three beaches, each with its own distinctive character. Railay West is the longest, featuring white sand and shallow water. Being the most popular, you’ll find a collection of resorts, restaurants and beach bars serving visitors. Further north is Ton Sai Bay, a good spot for rock climbing and affordable rooms. Railay West and Ton Sai offer amazing sunset views, when those steep cliffs are silhouetted against the sky. Opposite Railay West is Railay East, which is actually part of a bigger mangrove swamp. Though it’s not great for swimming, it’s the best place to catch a beautiful sunrise.
